Days go by

This little love is getting so so smiley!! I just cannot get enough of her and her sweet little face and coos!

My sweet Dad has done swim lessons with Parker ever since I was about 36 weeks pregnant with Eisley. I am SO thankful for him!! He’s so generous to get in the water with Parker and Parker LOVES it. He’s so excited to swim with Pops!!

Cheesing. 🙂

These two after peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Oy. I usually make them take off their shirts before they eat them. 😉 And I love the sticker from the clementine that Parker had to immediately put on his onesie. 😉

Mornings spent in our jammies are our very favorites!! I LOVE when we have no place to be and we can just play and go at a nice slow pace. The boys usually end up playing outside for a little bit and then we have lunch and take naps. Those are my favorite days. 🙂

Nathan has a couple of sets of Magformers and he loves to build with them! This day he made an entire zoo of dinosaurs all by himself and without following any directions. We were so proud of him and his creativity!!

Family hike day

On President’s Day, Jon had the day off from teaching. I was originally supposed to have a doctor’s appointment, but it got rescheduled and so we took the morning and drove over to the Bosque (the wooded area by the river) and did some hiking around!

Nathan was SO excited. He had to bring all of his bug catching equipment and wear his hiking vest. 😉

Ready to go! The day was gorgeous for a good hike!

Walking by the river. We saw so many things on this trip! We found a porcupine up in the trees and saw a bald eagle flying over the river. So much fun!

The girls. 😉 Eisley did not wake up the entire hike. Ha! She loves to be in the wrap or the Ergo – it’s her most favorite place to be.

This was so neat! There’s a school right by the river here and I guess one of the classes created this house from all of these dead branches. The boys thought it was about the coolest thing ever.

Since there were porcupines in the trees, we had to look for porcupine quills. Nathan was so happy doing this. He could have dug through the dirt and bark forever. At one point, he told me that I could probably take Eisley and Parker home and he and Dad could just stay until it got dark and then we could come back and pick them up. 😉 I’m sure he would have loved every second of it!

This one, however, was done. He kept grabbing my hand and saying, “Well, let’s probably go home.” “Let’s probably go home now, Mama.” Ha! He didn’t quite get why Jon and Nathan were getting so excited about the quills they were digging up out of the ground. 😉

Such a fun, laid back day! We needed this day dearly. 🙂

All the happenings

Nathan’s school this year is one day a week and then we do homeschooling the other four days. Some days, we do this when Parker is awake. Most days, we wait and do it when he’s napping so Nathan can focus a little better. 😉 But if Parker’s up, he wants to be doing exactly what Nathan is doing.

Oh my. I had to screenshot this because this totally shows you what our life has been like. 😉 Poor little guy. When Parker was born, Nathan was almost four and was pretty much self-reliant. He also could understand that I needed to nurse or hold the baby or change the baby or whatever we were doing. Parker just doesn’t understand any of that yet.

Case in point. 😉 Nursing while also trying to discipline a rambunctious nearly two-year-old has been interesting.

Little miss!! I laid her down in her bassinet for a few minutes while I took care of Parker and when I came back to get her, I found her like this:

Ha! Someone was enjoying their swaddle-free nap. 😉

Jon got his new signs in! They turned out so official looking. 🙂 He’s really enjoying the real estate! We are both counting down the days until he can be doing just the one job. 😉

These two. They can fight like cats but they really do love each other. It’s like the worst punishment I can hand out to make them go to their own rooms and be apart for a little bit.

Our dear friends Gracie and Junie came to play one day and Gracie left her little baby doll here on accident so we “babysat” for the evening. Nathan and Parker were super into this! And I was so impressed at how Nathan made sure she was carefully buckled into the bouncer. I was a little less impressed with Parker’s ideas of a blanket. 😉

Ha!! 🙂

He NEVER naps anymore, so I had to document this one. Passed our right in the middle of the mess. 😉

Despite Eisley’s expression, we had the best time having girl time with Cayce one afternoon! It came at a MUCH needed time when things were just particularly rough with Parker. Love my sister. Love my sister time. 🙂

Nathan and Pops had a contest to see who could peel the clementine while keeping the peel whole. We had to text Pops the picture of Nathan doing it!

Ugh. Eight weeks postpartum and back to working out. I was SO anxious to start though! It was time for some routine to be back in my life.

Little stinker. He’s so so cute and says the funniest things and then turns around and hits Nathan. He’s doing a fantastic job of being almost two. 😉

Aunt Cayce came with us to see Curious George the play – the boys LOVED it. They pretended to make golden meatballs the rest of the week. And the songs were stuck in my head for the next month. 😉

#ootd and a tired little model. 😉

I think she’s smirking here because she just spit up all over an entire load of laundry, which is why there is no cover on the Boppy. 😉

Smiley girl!! I love these sweet moments with my girl! She always gets so interactive and smiley the moment the boys go down for rest/nap time. It makes for a very unproductive afternoon for me, but it’s so so worth it!

Getting in some Auntie Cayce snuggles. 🙂

She was crying one day while I was trying to get ready really quick, so I ask Nathan to give her a pacifier and distract her and I came back to this. Ha!

This was so precious. Nathan has been dying to take Eisley in for show and tell at school since before she was even born, so on our first day back to school after she was born, he took her in. He was SO proud. So, so sweet!

Sweet baby snuggles with my precious chubby cheeker while the boys were down. Love these moments.

This was the night before Cayce moved to California and we had all just been crying. I love my sister so much. So excited for this new adventure for her but so sad for those of us here. We miss her very much!

This was not a good day. Jon left to go meet people to look at one of his houses and halfway there, his truck broke down. We had to get it towed back to our house. So sad. 🙁 We’re down to one car now and it’s been a pain, but we are thankful for the car we have and that this is just an annoyance and not a life or death issue.

She gives the best snuggles ever!

I had some coupons and so I went and bought the boys some summer outfits and they were SO excited about their new clothes! They both look so old to me right here. 🙁

Daddy love. 🙂

Parker came running in one day and told me that “Baby Eisey” is crying and it’s okay because he gave her a baba. I found this when I went back to check on her. Ha! Poor girl. 😉

Oh my. The days are so busy and tiring and emotional and sometimes, I don’t ever sit down once during the entire day. But these three are so worth it and such blessings. I look back on the days of praying for a full house and Jesus has just answered those prayers with such sweetness. Sometimes it’s hard to remember to cherish the moments when they are full of tantrums, but I know that these days are going to pass so quickly and I’ll miss when they were little and messy. Love my little musketeers. 🙂

Eisley is one month old!

Little Eisley girl turned one month old on January 22nd! I cannot believe that a month went by so quickly!

She is just the best baby. She sleeps about 7-8 hours at night and often during the day. She loves be held, loves to eat and loves to be around the family. She has the cutest little expressions and is the best snuggler in the world.

She has completely changed our family for the better and we love her so much! I cannot imagine life without her now! She’s just my tiny little love and I am so thankful for her!

Tying up the ends

This week just made us laugh at Eisley. All of a sudden one day, she went from a newborn baby who didn’t really notice anything to interacting with the world around her and she had the biggest eyes the entire time she was awake. Ha!

We have always adored our dear friends Clint and Leigh Ann but we adore them even more now! They have been sending big boxes of the most precious baby girl clothes for Eisley and I just can’t even tell you how sweet it is to me to dress my baby girl in some of the same clothes that some of our favorite girls have worn. We are so thankful for them!!

I love sweet baby coos. Eisley is BY FAR my most calm, contentedly quiet baby but she will burst out into some sweet little sounds every so often. Usually when the boys are down and it’s just me and her hanging out. 😉

In VERY BIG NEWS, Nathan learned how to tie his shoes!! We have been working on it off and on for a few months and one day out of the blue, he just decided he was going to do it and he practiced for about three hours and finally did it! He was so so proud! And I was so proud of him for trying so hard!

He had to put his shoes on with his pajamas that night just so he could tie the shoe with it on his foot. 😉 He has just grown up so much in the last couple of months – I can’t believe how big my first baby is!

All the cheeky smiles

I’m not going to lie. This little man has had a ROUGH time adjusting to his little sister. Bless his heart. She came right when he was entering the terrible twos and cutting back molars. Add in all the Christmas craziness and company in and out of town and it just made for a pretty rough few weeks with our mama’s boy who isn’t super excited about change.

Praise the Lord, though, it has finally been getting warm enough to play outside! We finished our landscaping of the backyard last summer and we have been LOVING it this year. The boys go out there and often don’t come back inside until dinner. It’s worth every penny and every drop of sweat we poured into it. 😉

We went out to dinner at Pei Wei right after my birthday and it was the BEST time. The kids behaved, the food was delicious, Eisley slept the entire time and the boys were just cute as can be. I love when I can see the future of what eating out is going to be like! Ha! Right now, I always have mild anxiety attacks trying to weigh the balance of whether it’s worth it to eat out since it costs so much and Parker can be a handful. Which means that if we eat out, we usually just go to CFA, where they can run and play and not bother anyone.

Nathan had the great idea to get a to-go box and then go fill it up with fortune cookies. He was so proud of himself. Ha!

They both thought they were hilarious with the burp rags over their shoulders. They need them with this little love. She gives her brothers runs for their money when it comes to the quantity of spitting up. 😉

“Hey, what happened to the chair??! Wait… Oh yeah…”

Morning snuggles. Love this picture. She has her brothers’ hearts, that is for certain!!

Sweet little love about to get in the tub for the first time!

Eisley’s first bath was a family event. Ha! The boys were so excited. 😉 I think it made her seem even more “real” to the boys when she was doing something that they do.

Little Miss LOVED her bath. She still absolutely loves her baths and only cries when she gets out. She’s definitely a bath girl!! I wish you could bottle the smell of sweet baby skin cleaned with lavender and vanilla soap. I’m pretty sure heaven will smell like that.

In the beginning of nursing when it took Eisley longer to eat, I would try to stay awake during the night sessions by taking quizzes I found on Facebook. This one just made me laugh. OF COURSE. 😉

We love visiting my beautiful sister at work! This was her last day at Starbucks in town before she transferred to one in California. There have been lots of tears in my house over this. We love Aunt Cayce so much!

My babies. This three kid thing isn’t easy or a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination, but I wouldn’t trade the exhaustion, joy and tears for anything in the entire world. I look at these little faces and I just get completely overwhelmed by how blessed we are. Thank you, Jesus!

Meeting Nama

My grandmother came in town just before Eisley’s one month birthday and met her first and only great-granddaughter. 🙂

Love this so much!!!

My boys adore their great-grandmother so they were completely overjoyed to see her!

I’m not even sure how this started but a long time ago, my parents showed Parker the ending of Secretariat
where he wins the Triple Crown. Ever since then, Parker has been
obsessed with the ending of the movie and with the song “Oh Happy Day”. Ha! He will
randomly just burst into the song in the weirdest of places.

He starts grinning the second Secretariat comes onto the screen. 😉

Nathan adores his little sister. He is constantly right in her face or right beside her and he’s always telling her how beautiful she is. 🙂 Love that. I hope he is always so encouraging of her!

Love this. 🙂

There’s a park close to my parents’ house and Pops took the boys there one day while Nama was in town while the girls had some girl time. My little Parker Bear is so happy underneath all the toys. 😉

This little face. She is growing so fast that I feel like I can barely keep up!!

On the last day Nama was in town, we were getting ready to go out to lunch and Parker started throwing up. He spent the next twenty-four hours getting sick and then like a switch, was back to normal right at lunch time the next day. Poor kid. He had a rough few weeks of sickness there.

I snuck out that night after Parker went to bed and spent the last night with Nama. Four generations! I am so blessed to have these women in my life. 🙂

Getting back to a new normal

I took this on January 11th, Eisley’s due date and the day before she turned three weeks old. 🙂 Little love has totally changed our lives in those three weeks!

This little man has had a rough couple of weeks. On the day before Nonnie and Papa O left, he started running a fever and ran one for the next two days. I took him into the doctor on Wednesday and found out he had Hand Foot Mouth disease. How he got this when we’ve been so careful to avoid places with lots of children is beyond me, but he was very miserable for a few days there. 🙁

Keva Juice was about the only thing that made him smile. Poor little man. I prayed and prayed that Eisley and Nathan would stay well!! Jesus was so kind to keep them well!!

I went to change Eisley’s diaper and saw something was missing… 😉 Nathan had been waiting so anxiously and checking multiple times a day to see if she still had her cord, so as soon as she lost it, I had to call him in right away. He was so excited. Ha!

Little cordless girl! She’s getting so big so quickly!!

I was holding her one night and looked down and just had this huge deja vu moment, so I took a picture and then went back through my pictures of Parker as a baby. On the left is Parker, on the right is Eisley – they look SO similar!! Eisley is a lot smaller than Parker, which is hard to see in pictures, but otherwise, they looked like the same kid. She changes a little each day, so I’m so curious to see what she’s going to end up looking like!

Parker was thankfully well enough to go to a very special acrobat show a few days later! We went with Gammy and Pops and had such a great time!

Before the show started. 🙂 Nathan LOVED it. Parker again had his hands over his ears the whole time. 😉 We went out to Olive Garden afterward and the kids pretty much ate the table. Ha! We had the best time!

I walked in late that afternoon and found them sitting like this watching Veggie Tales. So cute. They bicker and fight like cats sometimes but they absolutely adore each other and I just love seeing that!

Little Eisley girl is usually asleep most of the morning and early afternoon and then about 4PM, she wakes up and is super alert and awake for most of the evening. So funny how she’s kept her same routine from in the womb! I would never feel her until the afternoon and then she would kick like crazy until I went to bed. 🙂 I kiss those cheeks so much I’m amazed they are still there. 😉

A fun visit :)

Nonnie and Papa O came to meet sweet Eisley girl and we kept it quiet from the boys that they were coming. 😉 The boys were super surprised and excited to see them!

Love this of Nonnie meeting Eisley for the first time!!

Some Parker Bear love. 🙂

We had our sweet friend Sarah come take newborn pictures of Eisley. She definitely peed all over my wedding dress, but we got some beautiful pictures out of it! #worthit 😉

Since we were all dressed up for the pictures, Nonnie and Papa O decided to treat us all to a super nice dinner and we went to a hibachi grill for the first time with the kids.

Ha!! Nathan was in total awe!

Parker spent 90% of the dinner cooking time like this. 😉

 Me and my Jon. 🙂

Jon got this picture and it just made me start laughing. Look at the boys! Ha!!

Dying. I am dying. Ha!!

Such a wonderful trip with Nonnie and Papa O! And such a fun first experience with the boys! As we left, Nathan declared that he knew where he was coming for his birthday dinner. 😉

Sweet days at home

Since Eisley was born early, Jon got to be home for three weeks before he had to go back to work! We were SO so so thankful (especially since this recovery was a little more difficult). On one of the days, though, he got to close on his first house as a realtor, so our dear friends, the Beechem girls, came over to play and help out – such a blessing!! Love these friends all in their jammies!

Little dimples on a precious little girl!

We have been so so blessed by so many wonderful people who have brought dinner, stocked our freezer, helped out with the boys and done so much sweet things for us! I’m just overwhelmed by the amount of love that has been poured on us. We are so blessed!

Guys. I sincerely hope this girl isn’t claustrophobic because there is really a minute that goes by that she doesn’t have at least one, if not two, kids right in her face. 😉

Cleaning out the tubs in the garage is really just a good excuse to pretend to be race car drivers. 😉 These two just make me laugh.

Nighttime baby snuggles. Love my sweet girl.

We got an infant insert for her car seat and I think she likes it a little better! She still hates her car seat but it’s a little more comfy than it was. 😉

Nathan was so proud that he got to hold Eisley how Jon holds her. 😉 He laid like that for a long time, just snuggling and talking to her. So, so sweet.

I can barely stand the way he’s looking at her – so, so sweet!!
