It’s A….

Today has been one of the best days of my life – most definitely!!! šŸ™‚

Our appointment was at 8:30 this morning and we spent the longest few minutes in the waiting room, trying to settle the nerves. Finally, the ultrasound tech called us back and we got to go see!

The baby is perfectly healthy – thank you, Lord!! That has been my most fervent prayer these last few months!

And… since these are definitely the cutest baby pictures Jon or I ever seen (not that we are biased or anything!), I thought I’d share them!

Here’s the baby being shy…see both hands covering the eyes?

And now the baby is covering the ears… I started laughing so hard once we got home and really looked at the pictures – all we need is covering the mouth and then we’ve got all three of those monkey “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,” poses!

Our sweet little one!! Look at those cheeks!

We got to see the legs, arms, hands, feet and tons of profile pictures of the sweet little face! I had the hugest smile on my face the whole time and then the ultrasound tech told us what we were having and suddenly I was grinning and crying and laughing and Jon teared up too.

It amazes me how much we love this little one already! And we still have 20 weeks to go before we meet this baby in person!

It looks like we’ll have Little League in our future because….

It’s a boy!!!

Thank you SO much for your prayers for our little man! We are ecstatic!!!

  11. I am SOOOO excited for you two!! God bless little baby boy!! You are "in the blue"…Woo-Hoo!!! For some reason, I really thought you were having a boy. For some reason, I just saw you being the Mama of a son for your first.

    All I know is this…he will be loved and blessed. God bless you all. I'm SOOOO happy. This made my whole day!!! Congratulations!!

  12. Oh yay! Boys are awesome – I have 2 of them! (To be fair, girls are, too – I have one of those!)

    It IS amazing how much you can love a little person you've never seen, but are harboring within your body, nurturing it. That love is very rich and will only grow and gather strength every day of your life.

    As for all the things you don't know about parenting – it's like I told a friend recently: you will learn as you go and no two kids are alike. I learned a while back to throw out the "parenting" books and listen to what the Lord is telling me. Each of my kids is different and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for the other. (Yes, sometimes the books do have a practical purpose, but this is my experience in a broader sense.)

  16. Yeah! That is so exciting! My first baby was a boy, and it was and still is the sweetest thing to be the mom of a boy. Boys sure love their mommas. Prayers for continued health for you and him! Also, one book that helped me immensely when I had my first baby is First Time Mom by Kevin Lehman. It made me relax a lot.

  17. Oh YEAH!!!!!! Our firstborn was a boy too- what a delight!!! I completely agree with cjoy about learning as you go – I think the pressure to conform to what all those books and everybody's advice was to me was almost harder than the actual acts of raising him in those first couple of years…..Go with your heart – and PRAISE THE LORD the blessing of that baby boy!!!!!!!

  25. Congrats on finding out about your SON! Yay! Little boys are amazing. Believe me, I have three of them! You're going to be an amazing mama to that little blue bundle!
